Step ONe: Breathe

Step Two: Just make a list of questions and ask whatever you want. You are paying him some good money...so he can take time to put you at ease.

ditto to what amy said! and there is NOTHING that you shouldn't say or ask (excuse the double negative LOL) remember there is no dumb question, it is YOUR body :-)

i went to my 1st appt armed with a loooong list of questions, 99.9% of which i didn't have to ask because they covered them :-)

oooo Exciting!
I would ask if he has you stay overnight or if you can go home the same day. How he handles fill procedures - aggressive or not?, under fluro ?, how often?.
Good luck!

I didn't ask any questions when I went to that appointment.. I had a bunch in my mind..but like Carmen said..he covered most of them for me. Just relax and enjoy the ride! :)

Since I just had the first appointment....It was more detail about what he covered in the seminar, my dieting history, my family history. I also met with the nutritionist that same time.

Enjoy the journey!!

Yeah when I went for my consultation we had a group of people being banded around the same time and it was like a group Q & A meeting and then the good ol' doc came in and explained the technical side of the band and what he expected. It was very informative and I didn't have any questions when it was done.
It's no biggy! Just enjoy the ride!

I wish I had found these blogs before I had my initial appointment - there are so many more questions I would haver asked. Didn't even think to ask about what Jennifer mentioned above regarding fills. I'd also ask if he does a fill right at surgery. It seems some do and some don't.

I agree with everyone else. You're paying then a lot of your hard earned money, make sure they answer your questions. No question is a stupid question. My office is really great about that. They even gave me the hospital number incase I have any questions after hours and they have a bariatric surgeon on call at all times to answer any questions o in the event of an emergency.
