Wishy Washy

Hello blog land! What a weekend!

First of all...I have 30 followers! Wow that is great! I am so excited about that!

I titled this post Wishy Washy.

I am so wishy washy about my Lap Band surgery. Has anyone else every felt like this? Maybe it is because I am in such the early stages of this process. I feel like every day I change my mind at least 15 times about whether or not I am going to go through with "it."

Is this normal?????

Sometimes I start thinking, ya'll should be warned I over think everything, and it is like I have myself talked out of the surgery in 10 seconds.

At the end of the day I have always talked myself back into doing it.

I need this.

I have got to STOP thinking of this surgery as an elective surgery and START thinking of it as a HAVE TOO!

So, my goal of this week is simple...

Thanks for reading ya'll!

The process of making any big decision tends to be filled with a lot of back-and-forth. I certainly was wishy washy for a while, then resolved to do it, then had a last-minute panic attack a few days before surgery. I can tell you I'm very happy I did it, even though I'm still early in the process. A few people here have written pro/con lists to help clarify their thoughts. Maybe give that a try?

For me, I look at all of the people that do it without surgery and think, Maybe I should give it one more try. But then I think-how many 1 more tries does it really take?? I'm almost 30 for petes sake. I think it wouldn't be normal if you didn't have doubts. All big decisions require doubt and a little bit of fear. Everytime I read about someones success' it makes me want it more.

I know! When I read people's blogs I get so encouraged. Then I spend a couple days with out encouragement, and I am doubting again! I am almost 3 0 too! I want this so bad....right now at this moment! HAHA!

Mary - I think you're totally normal... I too, had a lot of back-and-forth thoughts. Not as to WHETHER I needed it or not (I absolutely did), but more to the point of "maybe I should try without surgery one more time"... Hang in there. Whatever decision you DO make is absolutely the right one for you, whether you go thru with it or not! And there are tons of us here to support that decision!!!

Hi Mary - re the heartburn, I had some before surgery that turned out to be from a hiatal hernia that my surgeon corrected during my band surgery. Haven't had it since.

I don't have any regrets either. I would also do it again. In a heartbeat. There are a few things that I've noticed that kind of suck (ie...some things I can't eat, and I'm currently getting over the flu), but I'd still do it again.
