I just want to eat some ham.

Good Morning Blog World!!
This is day 2 of my pre-op diet.

Have I mentioned I hate protein shakes?

Well, just for the record I do.

I dreamed about ice cream and cinnamon rolls last night.

Want to know the good news......I am down 3 1/2 lbs. this morning!!!!!!

What? Can this be POSSIBLE?????

I really would like to just eat a ham today.


I am not sure why, but ham sounds really good to me!!!!!

In all seriousness I guess I am doing good. Have not cheated, so that's great!!! I didn't get enough protein in yesterday. I am suppose to be getting in 60 protein and at least 64 oz of water. I did way more water than that yesterday, but didn't get my protein in. I will try harder today! I have already drank one protein shake so far......moving along!!!!!

I ended up going to the grocery store 2x yesterday!!! Someone on a LIQUID diet should not be aloud in a grocery store!!!!!! It was pure torture. Stuff I would never even eat all the sudden sounds great to me!!!! I made it out alive and still on my liquid diet!!!! I am going to try not to go back anytime soon!!!! I can't believe I was down 3 1/2 lbs. this morning. It just doesn't seem real!!

That is wonderful you are down 3 1/2 lbs!! You can do this liquid diet..I know it's hard, but so worth it in the end!

Congrats on the WL! You are doing good. I love the protein powder I use to make shakes. Check out my blog on that. Not sure which kind you are using. Is it the taste that you don't like or just over all dislike of protein shakes?

From what I've read the liquid only diet really helps you drop significant weight prior to surgery. I don't think I could do it, though. Luckily my preop was low carb/high protein. I know you are a better woman than me though and you'll make it through.

I wsa dying for coffee rolls this morning..and HAM too! WEIRD. I have asked myself all morning "what is it with the ham craving??"

I am not pregnant..but PMS is upon me..maybe that's it.

When I was on my liquid diet I spent at least an hour a day walking around in the grocery store...looking at things, touching things...planning and thinking about how different things were going to be when I was finally "allowed" to eat again.

It actually changed my perspective a lot. I stopped wanting the garbage and started craving the stuff that the surgeon said I should be eating (when it was time of course). Things like ham (see you're doing good and you don't even know it) and chicken...full of flavor and in small quantities.

I also went there to cart watch. I wanted to see what the skinny people were putting in their carts.

The liquid diet really helped me get things into perspective.
